The Dai Kinnara Dance has been carried through generations. Dancers embody the divine bird of Buddhist tradition through masks, bamboo wings, movement, and years of practice.
Spending time with experienced dancers showed me everything that exists behind the performance: repairing costumes, painting masks, repeating movements, preparing, teaching, and returning to the practice again and again. Cultural continuity lives in those accumulated choices. My camera followed the dance, but also the people whose time, discipline, and devotion allow it to remain alive.
