Through countless photographs and encounters, I collect stories of people: how they create belonging, and how each culture and memory is sustained across generations and borders through them.
I began carrying a camera because I wanted to see places beyond the city I knew. Over time, the camera became a reason to stay longer: to sit with families, ask questions, listen to stories, and notice the relationships behind what first appeared unfamiliar.
Carried Across gathers those encounters—from conversations with Japanese entrepreneurs building lives in Beijing to years spent photographing families, rituals, faith, and cultural inheritance across China. Across very different places, the same question continues to drive my curiosity and pursuits throughout my life: what do people carry with them—and what do they choose to carry forward?
